It looks pretty easy and straight forward. The cheapest I have found the water pump kit is $252, but I’d have to ship it. I can drive to the ginormous Cummins dealer near my home and snag one for $282. What else should I consider changing out whilst I monkeying around in there? Of course I will inspect the belt and replace if it looks sketchy, but what about the thermostat? Idler pulley? AZBob Sent from Mail for Windows From: Randy Bennell via Mercedes How difficult is it to change the water pump on that engine? I would think the worst case scenario would be that the replacement does not last as long if you buy aftermarket. Have you tried looking online for an OEM with a discounted price?
