I don’t think the steam cleaner is the right tool but it might loosen up that
sticky layer while also taking off and lettering. I have used Goo Gone to some
effect but I don’t think it’s worth the bother and effort.

I did not fire up the steamer today as my car is quite clean and didn’t need
any of that. I do have a very sticky panel for the headlight switch and I
noticed a couple of the lower seat trim pieces are getting a bit sticky too.
The headlight panel is probably available on eBay or AliExpress for cheap, I’ll
look that up.

I did do a bit of carpet cleaning, there were a few stains here and there, a
scrub with cleaner and the extractor got everything really looking like new.
Black carpet is a lot easier to keep clean! It’s a very nice low-humidity day
so I hope it dries quickly.

I put some essential oils (tea tree and eucalyptus) in the extractor solution
with some alcohol and Odoban which leaves a nice fragrance. I can still smell
rodents piss though, probably in the duct work. I’ll have to look into that AC
duct cleaner stuff.

Interior actually looks almost new, there are a coupla little minor scuffs on
some plastic but almost unnoticeable. The seats are in amazing condition, black
leather holds up well. One of those detailing brushes and some simple green
gets all the crannies around switches and vents and such really clean.

These C215s are beautiful cars.
