I've seen the "no mow" stuff in northern AZ, but the funny thing is that grass is really rare there due to the climate. Most people, if they want grass, get the fake stuff.
One of the things I love about the place. Other than having to rake pine needles twice a year, there's nothing else required in the way of yardwork. It's mostly bunchgrass and other native plants.
