I changed Oil and all filters Saturday, went to purge the air out of the fuel filter and the primer pump was squirting fuel out of itself. How hard are these things to change? George, If the primer pump leaks in any position, it should be replaced. Air leaks here will cause you grief at some point in the future. Space is limited to remove the old one, unless you remove the fuel line adapters from both the inlet and outlet of the transfer pump. You can grab the body of the OLD primer pump with a vice grip or big channel locks, and unscrew it. The old one will be destroyed in this case, but who cares! The new one is will have the little rubber dome and is much more compact, and can be installed without removing the fuel lines. Do it soon, Regards, Jim Friesen Phoenix AZ 79 300SD, 262 K miles 98 ML 320, 142 K miles
