I hope I am responding correctly. I have not been here for a long time. My 300D got totaled in a storm and I replaced it with a 300TD Estate Wagon. I agree, well almost:
The chromed arches invite rust (holes in the metal) I have seen a couple (560 SL that also had the same chrome rims) that don't look so bad, just not on this model IF one is going to have them, the rims need to be chrome as well. Nothing worse than just having them by themselves. They just scream for attention. The old M100's 600 SEL had them, and because the line of the chrome wrapped around the entire car including the rocker panel and the bumpers and the trim around the windows, it looks complete to me. Otherwise, it is a nice-looking vehicle...not my color favorite though... ________________________________ From: Mercedes <mercedes-boun...@okiebenz.com> on behalf of Allan Streib via Mercedes <mercedes@okiebenz.com> Sent: Wednesday, July 10, 2024 1:41 PM To: Mercedes Discussion List <mercedes@okiebenz.com> Cc: Allan Streib <astr...@fastmail.fm> Subject: [MBZ] we are negotiable - 1984 300TD - 196k miles - $21,900 I think the chrome wheels and arches are are ugly and wrong, the W123 needs to have Bundts or hubcaps. But I guess not many of these left.
