Depends on where you get the OM617. If the engine comes from a W123 you will need to change the oil filter housing, oil cooler hoses, motor mount arms. Of course you will have to change the transmission, and adjust drive shaft as needed.
Then you will have to install Glow plug relay system and hook up all the electronics including tachometer amplifier. Also ignition switch for the vacuum cut off. Additionally instrument cluster depending on if you want glow plug light. Also you will need to change the fuel outlet from gas tank and remove electric fuel pump.
