Oh, and the four-speed automatic does not have a torque
converter, only a fluid coupling.  (Not sure that means
anything, other than it has a low first gear to make
up for it.)

The dual Zenith carbs, when they're working right, work
very well.  They also are fairly trouble-free if they're
not broken.  It can be hard to find somebody who knows
how to put them right, however.  But once right they
ought to stay that way for quite awhile.  (And yours
may be just fine.)
