If you are talking about the W126, it's the last and best of its line,
provided it has the updated engine. If you are talking about the W140,
it's the first and worst of that chassis, expect various electrical
gremlins and it costs as much to replace an A/C evaporator as it does
to replace the transmission. Evap issues seem to be as common as bent
rods on early W140. The W140 is a wonderful (but heavy) car, just not
a cheap car to drive long term.
