I would use with a national chain, e.g. Banner glass, or call your insurance
company for a recommendation. You will be absolutely thrilled with the
vision afforded by new w/s - go for it. Unless you are a nut about
authenticity, any US glass (PPG) is an OK substitute for the OEM German
glass.

Is there any difference in aftermarket windshields or is all about the

I am thinking about getting a new windshield for my 1990 300SEL. It has
one small star shaped crack, which doesn't bother me. But, it has so
many tiny little sandblast marks on it that when the right glare hits
it, it is very difficult to see through. I just brought my wife's
explorer to get a new windshield for the same reason.

I know other have this done on their Benzes and wonder how the
replacements are holding up.

This Kansas wind must be rough on windshields. Plus, I guess highway
driving doesn't help either.
