I remember when I 1st heard that Rolls welds the head to the block - I knew
tight then a Rolls was not for me. Course, if something went wrong I could
always pull the Rolls engine and drop in a LT1 or something. ;-)

Speaking of British cars with V8's I once looked into buying a Triumph
TR8.
Coupla years ago I stopped by a local used car lot to peek at the
Rolls silver something-or-other. Was cool looking, but no doubt
a nightmare in the running department. Also in some serious need
of refinishing of the woodwork. There was a potential buyer ready
to take it on a test drive, so I didn't get much of a chance to look
it over. They seemed to think they had an incipient bidding war
on their hands. Ha!
