Should be available new, they were a few years back when my brother got
his 300D and we found both a rolled lip AND missing mesh filter with
the spring on top....
Don't know how much, but cheaper than junking the car.
To get it back on again correctly you must push it up into the housing
and hold it there while screwing the bolt in until the lip is pushed up
inside the housing by the bolt, otherwise, it will do as yours did,
fall down, top sideways, and catch, resuling in a crinkled lip.
Much easier on a lift, of course.
