Could be vacuum operated - I've never seen a manual heat system in a 107.
His is a '79 - so it would use the old servo. Yes - the later ones use
the mono valve (after '83?).

Glenn Brown sent me a nifty pic of the heater valve in his '76 W107, but
it's obviously vacuum operated, with no cables at all.
