Kevin - the 126 trunk area is famous for getting water inside, and often it
is coming from around the rear window. It seems that the metal around the
lower part of the window starts to rust, and water then gets into the trunk.
Of course, the drains from each side well must remain clear, or you will get
serious rusting in that are as a result of water entering from the top.
Of course, you could be lucky and just have a bad trunk lid edge seal!

Subject: [MBZ] leaky trunk 1983 300sD
Just thought I would write about my leaky trunk. When it is opened, water
pours out of the trunk lid itself. Is there some drain that should be
diverting this water? I would like to be able to carry things in the
trunk
and keep them dry too!
