Don't get so snooty, the high tomorrow is supposed to be 49F in Portland...

Tops out at 100F for maybe 1 day in the summer.. Of course its 99% humidity for
that week.

Curt reminded us:

"Maine is a very welcoming state"

I was in Portland in '88 and was made to feel at home. Maine is
beautiful.
The people are real.
I believe if I hit the powerball and had to live somewhere I would,
after i
bought a new ACC servo, buy a house in Maine.

In 70 degree AZ...I bet it's not 70 in Maine.

This has been my understanding too, though far less educated than some.

My '92 Harley Sportster needed at least 92 octane according the the manual.
It pinged on acceleration in all but the coolest months in the PHX area
(even on 92 or 93 octane).

The guy who sold me my Saab claimed that "Super" or "Premium", call it what
you may, contained good juices and additives and it should be run every few
tanks whether or not your engine needs the octane. I believe him as much as
I believe that he was going to fix the power steering and that the sunroof
doesn't leak.

Generally you want to go by what the owner's manual says. If the manual
says 87 octane, you won't gain anything by using 91.
