Some do, some don't. The worst you're likely to do is blow
the clock (unswitched) fuse if you don't.

But could you go a little deeper in the meaning of the "unswitched" fuse?
For the clock.
That is the reason behind taking out IC the tach/clock, the clock is non
functioning
is there a fuse to it? Bought a re-mfg tach/clock for $45.00.
