Before you start blaming the unions, ask yourself who brought about such
decisions such as product line and design. Management has killed the
American automakers, not the unions. And the fact that the US still has an
antiquated healthcare system that tacks on more cost to a new auto than the
steel costs.

Subject: [MBZ] Toyhota quality
I think it is Toyotas stringent quality control that has helped it be the
number 1, not as many Monday morning and Friday afternoon cars.
Therein lies the problem of the western auto makers, unions demand more
money for their workers but don't care about the quality of the product
they
are building. Guess they will pay the price.

Subject: Re: [MBZ] DaimlerChrysler or Daimler, Chrysler?
Toyota has build a reputation for building affordable and reliable
transportation, boring as the rest of the Asian cars but the perception
of
quality is there.
A friend of mine drove a 1990 Camry practically since it was new, and why
do
you think he got rid of it? Well, he simply got tired of it! There was
nothing wrong with the car, but he got the chance to buy a 2000 Deville
from
a family member who had passed away. Wifey didn't want him to get rid of
the Camry since there wasn't anything wrong with it. It was a hard sell,
but he's got the caddy now. The Deville is probably a bit more powerful,
but it probably won't last as long.
