Brake squeal can also be caused by glazed pads due to incorrect driving. This is a particular problem with lady drivers who always gently apply brakes, like my Mum. If a couple of hard braking stops don't cure the squeal then it may need some brake grease.

Brake squeal is caused by the brake pads vibrating at high frequency.
The magic goo goes between the back of the pads & caliper & helps dampen
the vibration. Your local discount parts store usually has small packs
for sale on the counter for less than $1.00 each. Just ask for the brake
anti-squeal compound & they will know exactly what you want.
