True bearing of sun discernable with theodolite OR sextant. Properly mounted (installed) sundial is always more dependable and more accurate than other "time" pieces for REAL, CELESTIAL time. If it's mounted properly and sun is on it, it shows PERFECT celestial time for the sundial's location EVERY TIME. The time "zones" we have established for ease of communication/commerce/travel are a different matter.
