Thanks Peter,
I'll look into a place with good prices for the links. I'll also check the
idle control valve in the morning. Where do I look for it when looking into
the engine from the front?

Thanks again Peter,
Ed

You cannot replace just the rubber, you must replace the link itself.
This is because the rubber is used as a spring. instead of the inner
sleeve of the bushing slipping on the bolt, it is held firmly and the
rubber part twists. Expect to replace all four replacable links on
each side and the bushiings in the spring link that are not rubber.

The headrests are vacuum operated. You must pull them up and manually
latch them, the switch only releases the catch to drop them. I leave
mine down unless I have rear seat passengers.

The idle speed is controlled by the engine computer via a temperature
switch. Likely the problem is a dirty idle control valve sticking
open. Clean with carburetor spray. You should also check for vacuum
leaks at the same time , usually the idle control valve hoses, the boot
between the air flow sensor/fuel distributor housing and the throttle
body, and the injector seals are all rock hard and shrinking.
