OK I read that auction again and he does say that a valve "cracked". But -- isn't that a pretty rare thing to have happen? What would cause it? Just a random defect or is it indicative of other neglect?
Maybe it was started on ether. Low mileage like that would mean a fuel tank teaming with algae. Perhaps the previous owner was ignorant of the ways of Benz...
