Anybody else see Pimp My Ride on Sunday night? It was a special Earth
Day show. The featured car was a '65 Impala with a souped-up Duramax
V-8 and Allison tranny, running on biodiesel. It looked like
extensive modifications to the firewall were necessary to fit the
drivetrain in, along with a big power bulge in the hood to cover it
up. Claimed 800 hp, 1400 lb-ft, and 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds. The car
was shown smoking a late-model Lamborghini of some sort at the drag
strip. Fun stuff.
