have the fan be hard on (a the defrost speed) while the AC is on. Like a
controller bypass, know what I mean?
Bob,

First of all, the 15 amp cube relay that turns on the fan only when vacuum
is present, is too small and builds resistance with age. Replacing this
relay
will restore much of your fan speed. ON DEFROST, the system uses a
different type, less used relay and the fan seems to get better voltage.
In the 79
300SD, the relay is directly behind the glove box. On your car, I THINK it
is
behind the center console.

WARNING: there are several different 15 amp relays that look similar, but
this one has a unique circuit.

You could run a fused #12 wire (20 amp fuse) direct from a battery source,
or even better, right off the alternator output block, and splice it up to
the
hot side fan plug wire. Brown is ground so the other wire is the hot, and
the closer you hook it to the fan motor, the less losses you will
experience.
Add a convenient toggle switch in the wire to turn this feature off when
the
boost is not needed. You WILL be amazed!
