Any plastic tank radiator over 10 years old is on borrowed time. Chances 
are it was just its time.
I'm rather fond of Nissens radiators.  I've never had a problem with one 
( although I've heard of a number of people having problems with them if 
they ran Dexcool ) and on most applications they have more tubes and 
fins than the stock radiator.
