The subject talks about buying a domestic car - my experience has been
positive over the last few years. My Mom and M-I-L both lived with us as we
provided them Hospice and both brought cars they valued for us to have. One
was a 92 Olds 98 with 3.8 V6 and other was a 97 Chrysler Concord w/3.5 V6
IIRC - the drivetrain - which to me means, engine, tranny, F&R suspension
all worked perfectly - we continued to provide the excellent car they had
been given before arriving - and only the accessories gave us trouble.
things like turnsignal controls, electr window winders and such gave
intermittant trouble The things that were totally unacceptable were the
trim - chrome plated plastic in the passenger compartment failed quickly as
well as door panels that warped and other stuff I no longer recall --
