We used to spray used motor oil on weeds back when it was not politically incorrect to do so.

Keeps the ground bare for about45 days even with heavy rains. I like the goat idea though. I used to have a brush goat years ago, handy critter, but now days everybody around here selling goats thinks they are purebred show critters and want $100 for the things.
