The problem with the 123 set up is that the little wheel spins on the little
shaft and what happens when you press the little reset button while moving
is that you put extra pressure on the little wheel which spins on the little
shaft and eventually the little shaft turns but the little wheel does not
and then you have to take the instrument cluster out and do a very fiddly
job of repairing the little wheel so it turns with the little shaft again.
Far as refuelling goes, nothing wrong with doing what you do if there are
plenty of service stations along the way but I would not recommend it when
you are not sure about fuel avaiability. I realise the situation over there
is different to what we have here but a golden rule when driving in the
outback is to have enough fuel to get to not the next fuel place but the one
beyond that. Reason being that sometimes a small outback fuel station may
have shut down, run out of fuel, or have another reason for not being able
to supply fuel.
