Interesting, a quick google search agrees with you.
The welding book I own says brazing is no good for 4130.
More searching seems to say as long as the 4130 isn't heat treated you'll be 
okay. That said it appears alot of the 4130 used now is heat treated...

I am pretty sure brazing CroMo was common "back in the day" for race
cars and aircraft..
