I'm sure people have thought they put away my buddy's Powerstroke. He tows 12-15k horse trailers in sixth, and won't downshift until he drops below 50mph.
My parents owned a '99 Ford F350 Powerstroke which hauled a 35 foot 12.5K 5th wheel trailer. With the pedal floored, it was just enough to maintain 50MPH up the Grape Vine. I'm not sure how our Dodge Cummins would do with the same load, but it'll tow our 7K travel trailer around with ease. If I could have the '06 Cummons, or better yet, a SLIGHTLY tweaked 12 valve '94-98.5 Cummins in the '99 or later Ford crewcab, now that would be THE TRUCK!
