I could get all anal and dig up stats to prove something non-consequential, but I will simply say that the T-34 was a blast to fly, fully aerobatic (up to and including intentional inverted spins), and ... well, I have a 240D w/ auto tranny as my daily driver.
As I said in an earlier post, if a particular airframe does something at a more violent rate of x (angle of bank, climb rate, etc.) than the T-34, then it doesn't matter because I most likely will not be intentionally putting in those control inputs. My flight instructors (the vast majority of whom were fighter (F-4) pilots) got really frustrated with me for being "too damn smooth" on the controls. We won't even talk about the landings. But hey, my theory was that smooth equated to skill -- any hot-dog can try to rip his eyeballs out of his skull with g-forces or stall an aircraft onto the runway. There is absolutely no need to bang your head against a canopy recovering from an approach-turn-stall. If you spill coffee, you didn't do it right.
