Hi again. My friend in Jacksonville, Florida has her 1991 350SDL she's considering getting rid of. (I think the decision is based on what she can get for the car; She's considering selling it due to a family illness and does not need a 3'rd car.). Purchased used from a Mercedes dealership in 1996 with about 70K miles with a new, factory replacement engine. Uses ZERO oil between 3K oil changes, garaged since purchased, now with ~170K miles. . In above average condition and ran well when I drove it a few months ago.
Now I KNOW this is a tough crowd when it comes to these 3.5L "rodbender" engines, but is the longevity of the factory replacement engines better than the originals? What might a car like this fetch on the open market?
