I have a '93 300E 2.8 that has failed emissions. While I was at emissions testing I ran into a person who has a 88 300E that also failed. He was told by his mechanic that there is a 3mm allen screw in the center of the top of the air intake that if you turn it backwards it will lean the mixture. When tested it actually did lower the HC's count. I am wondering if there is such an adjustment and where it would be on the '93 I have.
