Most of the time, especially bad when its real windy out. It can be kind of scary when I hit water on the road too, feels almost like the car is hydroplaning but a tap on the brakes (disaster if I actually was hydroplaning) straightens everything out.
By Indy swears the rear links are okay. When I had the tires replaced only the rears were abnormally worn although the tire monkey claimed the wear on the fronts was unusual and they had some kind of bumps on them... Makes me think alignment. -Curt Date: Thu, 25 Oct 2007 10:37:18 -0700 From: "Alex Chamberlain" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [MBZ] 124 squirrely rear, yet again To: "Mercedes Discussion List" <mercedes@okiebenz.com> Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 On 10/25/07, Curt Raymond <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > I await the answer on this one with much anticipation. Alignment is the next step when I get time to take it in. > Curt, under what conditions do you notice the car acting up? Here's my current thinking on squirrely 124/201 rear ends, based on my (unfortunately) extensive experience with them: Squirrely all the time --> suspect any and all links in the 5-link system. Squirrely on sudden acceleration or braking --> suspect subframe mounts. Squirrely just over bumps --> suspect alignment. Squirrely when parked under an oak tree --> normal.
