Need a big roof for lots of panels - maybe a nice schoolbus would work? Article in Woodenboat Mag a while back about a cruising houseboat type craft built in Australia with solar panels all over its relatively big flat roof. Still needed generator on board to ensure they were not occasionally dead in the water but they claimed pretty good performance based only on the solar charging. Lots of sun in Aus I suppose.
