I'm sure everyone is familiar with the DEA (?) agent giving a
demonstration for a group of school children and just after saying "I'm the
only one in this room qualified to handle this gun." he promptly shot
himself in the foot. He hesitated for a moment before contining his speech.
Safety can never leave the front of the brain. When working with a tool
that kills in an instant requires nothing less. but it must be remembered
that guns in the hands of those legally qualified to have them have saved
many more lives that they have taken. It doesn't make the news because
it's not "newsey" to talk about a crime that didn't happen even though they
are used 1 million to 3 million times a year to stop or prevent a crime -
depending on who is doing the research.
