Seems like the sale of Chrysler to Cerberus would have aborted this plan. Last I heard, Chrysler was planning to offer the Dakota, D150, and Durango with an all-new relatively small Cummins engine. I'd be surprised if they keep buying anything from Daimler--both new companies seem to be interested in severing their ties---for example, Chrysler plans to stop manufacturing of some or all of their models that used M-B componentry (the Magnum and Crossfire for sure, not sure about the 300 and Charger).
