Lifetime warranties are more a marketing ploy than an endorsement of  
quality.  Just like rebates "employee pricing" etc.  They probably  
don't offer it on the diesel because they think they can sell all  
their stock without it.

Hyundai or Kia or one of them offers a 10 year warranty, I think, and  
it's not because their cars are so good, it's because it's the only  
way they can get people to buy them.
