'xactly. I almost felt like a "cheatin' Ho" when the mechanic saw some door
checks and other new parts laying in the floorboard. I didn't ask him to put
them on but said, "I've got some projects to keep myself occupied should it
snow."

I've actually had homeowners want an small project wired but insist I sort
through "some old electrical parts and wire they found at the flea market."
In those cases just get in the truck and go to the house. Dad often said I
"give too much information on my invoices" as I'm very straight forward.
I'll make no bones about showing you how much I paid for materials and how
much I'm charging you. Someone had to wait at Electric Supply, put the
materials on his account and haul them to your site.

On the same invoice was the cost of replacing the fuel tank and fuel sending
unit. I think that sending unit is about $124. new. A new tank who knows,
$800.? Total invoice to me was $350. I wouldn't have had the resources or
time to find, pull, remove old, replace new in an afternoon.

I'm gonna change my routine, however. From now on I'm just going to drop the
cars off at the shop and say, "I only have $XXX.00. What can you fix for
that?"
