Hans, You probably have a cold solder joint in the cruise amp. What we do is remove the amp and resolder all the connections. Re-install and it usually works fine. Jim Cathey on this list was doing this as a side business but I believe he's too busy with his real job.
Some listers may have a used amp for you to just plug in.
