Happened to me just today. Driving along, behind a woman in the passing
lane going under the limit to boot. Sees a temp tax station set up on the
other side of the street and with nothing in front of her, hits the brakes!
I lay on the horn, and all the cops look over from the other side of the
street. Was pretty funny.

It would be interesting to know, and I'm sure it's never been looked into,
if setting up such traps to catch ppl creates a greater danger than the so
called offense of "speeding", what with cops running out into the middle of
traffic to wave ppl over, and the cars behind trying to figure out why the
sudden deceleration and then hitting the brakes themselves, not to mention
now bringing traffic to a stand still in one lane that was previously
flowing. Nothing spells frustration like two lanes attempting to merging
into one. I won't even mention some of the near disasters I've seen after
watching ppl trying to merge back into flowing traffic from the shoulder of
a highway after getting a ticket.

If cops are after easy money, and really want to do something to protect
ppl, just set up shop beside any crosswalk. My best bud is an ER doctor and
tells me 90% of ppl hit by cars are hit at crosswalks. I've yet to see a
cop at a crosswalk in the city, ever!

I'll now return to the inside lane and play some soft classical music. :-)
