Yep, we've been a global economy for a long, long time - much longer than
the average list member has been around.

The original wheel bearings in my 1959 220S Mercedes were made in Japan.

Back in the 1970s my brother-in-law would never buy anything which wasn't 
made in USA.  He once asked me to fix his Sylvania TV.  The power supply, 
main board, and rf board were all made in foreign countries; Maylasia, 
Korea, Japan IIRC.  I think the crt and case were all that were still made 
in the US.  I never told him.
