Couldn't you just run the windshield defroster on hot and get the same thing. At least here in Florida mine will run the AC compressor at the same time to dry the air and then heat it before blowing it onto the windshield. Don't know if the AC compressor gets turned off when it gets real cold or not as it doesn't get real cold here.
