There's a dog which likes to lay in the ditch (for the last 8-10 years) and then race whatever comes along. Never goes into the road. When I drove by the other day, he gave himself a 200 foot head start, didn't wait for me to get to the starting line. Maybe he's getting older? I caught him near the edge of the field next to the yard. Not sure what he considers the finish line, he usually pulls up and stops near the center of the field. I haven't paced him on the bicycle for a few years, but IIRC he used to be able to be able to accelerate quite smartly to 30-35mph.
