Ops, I better go tell my 2005 320CDI with a straight 6 that it is
inferior to a v6. The better than 35 mpg I achieve on the interstate
and 0-60 in 6.4 secs is not inferior as far as I can tell and I'm not
driving around with a chemical plant beneath me.

And the real good news is that you can probably pick one up now for 33
to 35K with an extended factory warranty up to 100K miles.

At least BMW has the common sense to keep the straight six design.
Maintanence is easier and all your fragile vacuum lines and other
vitals are kept away from the hot side (manifold) of the engine. V6
