To hell with lousy geeky computer forums, you guys are, as the kids say, bomb. Thanks Russ for this link. I was able to get rid of MANY things that were running at startup. I heeded Wilton's and Rick's advice and it helped also. Zedic made a great deal of headway in people's efforts to convert me to Linux. This pig is blazing fast now. This was a productive Sunday.
