I think he added a zero, after 100 yards .22LR performance drops RAPIDLY. I forget the drop at 100 yards but its substantial. At 300 yards you'd really be just lobbing bullets toward the target in a huge arc.
The CCI subsonics are vastly superior to the Remington or were 10 years ago the last time I played with them a lot. In the early '90s when I was shooting a lot Remington had something like a 10% misfire rate where other brands were 1% or less. When I was shooting smallbore target competitively I was firing around 1000 rounds a week, 10% was totally unacceptable... CCI was selling some .22 rounds that were so cheap they were loose packed but were much more reliable and accurate than more expensive Remington ammo... For fun subsonic try http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=163096 very very quiet. Of course in competition we shot much more expensive Eley target ammo... -Curt Date: Sat, 21 Jun 2008 11:25:17 -0400 From: "LarryT" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [MBZ] What would you do if diesel/gas cost $10/g To: "Mercedes Discussion List" <mercedes@okiebenz.com> Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed; charset="iso-8859-1"; reply-type=original Thanks Mitch! Those Remington 22 LRs look great! One of the comments from a buyer says <<I have hit cow patties easily out to 300 yards>> I never imagind using CPs for target practice! He goes on to dscribe the splt being louder than the round firing! Also, at $3.50 for 50 they're pretty inexpensive - Thx agn - Larry T (66 MGB, 74 911, 91 300D) www.youroil.net for Oil Analysis and Weber Parts Test Results http://members.rennlist.com/oil PORSCHE POSTERS! youroil.net 800-583-8601 Weber Carb Info http://members.rennlist.com/webercarbs ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mitch Haley" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Mercedes Discussion List" <mercedes@okiebenz.com> Sent: Thursday, June 19, 2008 12:44 PM Subject: Re: [MBZ] What would you do if diesel/gas cost $10/g > LarryT wrote: >> I have some subsonic .22s also - unfortunately they're .22 Shorts so >> accuracy beyond 10' is not very good. > > Try these: > http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=972593&t=11082005 > > http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=678232&t=11082005 > > _______________________________________ > http://www.okiebenz.com > For new parts see official list sponsor: http://www.buymbparts.com/ > For used parts email [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: > http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com For new parts see official list sponsor: http://www.buymbparts.com/ For used parts email [EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
