That reminds me George...

For others besides George:

I'd devoted 5 weeks of time on a PII-450 w/ 1GB RAM to run a test using
v19.0.1

The run was on:
Pminus1=16777216,1000000,40000000,1,24

It actually took about 31 days which fit my estimate of 30 days pretty darn
good. Per George's request, I kept a close eye on the memory usage and
during the entire run (only 1 stop/restart during the entire time since I
had to upgrade that server) it behaved quite well. No memory leaks. Memory
usage averaged around 120-130 MB but peaked around 145MB during the
initialization stage, but then went down to between 120-130MB.

I'll be emailing you the savefile George... was it supposed to do anything
besides say "Stage 2 complete" when it was done?

One thing I *did* notice though...

When it finished, it just sat there, with only "Stage 2 complete" being the
last thing output to the window, but the Prime95.exe process continued to
draw all idle cycles and memory usage "stuck" at about 30MB or so. Since
I'd configured it to NOT contact Primenet (at your request), shouldn't it
have said something like "no work to do" or whatever?

Anyway, that's my "bug report". :-)

For what it's worth, I did not have any ILLEGAL SUMOUT errors when it would
save my p-1 temp file.

Aaron

ps - All: notice I have a new email address...temporarily. @Home is
transferring my service to a new address and, rather than simply change the
address on my subscription, they had to cancel my old account, setup a new
one, and once the old one is fully out of their system, then I can get my
old email address back. Sigh...sorry to anyone who has tried to send me
email and had it bounce...it'll be back up "soon" according to TCI, er, I
mean AT&T.
