I was wondering about whether we should consider
dropping GLUT from the next major Mesa distribution
(3.4 I guess) and replacing it with 'freeglut':

   http://freeglut.sourceforge.net

...which has an Xfree license rather than GLUT's
"free for distribution but not public domain"
license.

Freeglut runs all my applications identically
to the real GLUT - and I'm told that it also runs
all of the Mesa examples too.

GLUT could use some maintenance and enhancements
to keep up with the times - and since Mark Kilgard
seems to have done nothing to GLUT for at least 18 months,
I think it's time to take up the OpenSource version
and run with that instead.

What do other people think about this?
