I think that's an excellent overhaul to make. Although my first reaction is
we're reinventing Gallium in Mesa, truth is there is no need for Mesa driver
interface to be stuck so near the GL API, and whatever is done to make the Mesa
drivers simpler also applies to the Mesa state tracker. And all this
renderbuffer vs texture is definetely one of GL legacy things we can do without.
