This looks like the stack has been corrupted and therefore can't be opened.
Is it possible that you transfered it to the Mac using a non-binary transfer
(some transfer programs will wrongly assume MetaCard stacks are text only
and thus break them)? Try transfering again, being sure to specify binary
if relevant any time during the transfer.
