Some of the other locks can help with speed too:

  - "the lockMessages" is a big one, if you don't
    need subsequent messages to be handled

  - "the lockRecent" can help some if your stack
    navigation isn't built on relative card
    positions (next cd, prev cd)

Metatalk Ref for other locks.
